I found this picture quite interesting in its composition. I know a little about the rule of thirds and so thought it very effective to position the two rocks in the lower third of the picture while the canyon rim is in the upper third. This creates a much deeper feel to the picture and makes the tracks behind the rocks seem quite long. I also like the limited clear blue sky adds to the picture offers no distraction. Perhaps the nicest effect is the effective use of shadow to leave only the canyon rim sunlit. I don't know what the true colour of the stones are but I found it pleasing to the eye that their blue seems to balance the brighter sky.
All told a very effective picture in terms of composition and interest.
i love the mystery of the sailing stones. this is the most stunning picture i have seen of them for actual clarity and detail of what is happening over the decades! beautiful capture. all your works are stunning sir, very well done.
Thanks, Annabelle! Indeed, I love Death Valley. I feel as if I need to explore the remote areas of the park, now. . . the areas that are harder to get to. Where all did you see? Did you drive through Titus Canyon?
All told a very effective picture in terms of composition and interest.
