Multnomah Falls by coulombic Multnomah Falls by coulombic
Yep, nothing new or creative, here. Beautiful, but this is exactly the same image everyone and his/her dog takes of this place.

Sadly, during my time spent there, it was simply raining too hard to be overly creative with composition. Too long of an exposure, and the lens would be covered with water. Too close, and the mist from the falls covers the lens. Probably could have explored and thought about it a little more, but the rain. . . well, the rain cramps my style.

i must say, having just visited a few waterfalls myself very recently, this looks breath taking!
unfortunately english waterfalls are not quite as massive, but when its rainy they rage as hard!
dont let the rain bring you down too much, we were made water tight for a reason my friend:)
you still got a great shot and a lot of faves agree!

Ive been there a hand full of times and have hiked from the bottom to the very top. This is the shot everyone gets, and from personal experience its almost the only angle you can get the full waterfall from without having something like a tree or walkway or handrail obscuring the image. Regardless it is a breathtaking waterfall!

Rain sux and that mist is just downright annoying.

Pretty much. I don't view it as anything new/profound. It's Multnomah Falls. Beautiful, but it really is a by-the-books shot of it. Try to do something too terribly different, and it likely won't turn out looking nearly as nice as the generic view, anyway.

It looks unreal! And I haven't seen this location either but I don't think every man and his dog could have captured it like this, honestly. Love it!

Glad you liked it. I felt pretty good about it, but had the situation been more forgiving, I'd have taken vastly different images. For starters, had it not been raining, I'd have done a true long-exposure of this, as to really smooth out the water.

I can understand the frustration.. coming from Ireland I know all about how rain can hinder such things haha.. but at the end of the day you still got something that you posted here and people loved so that's great!

I don't see any problem with the composition/exposure, that's a really good capture!

Thanks. It's a solid composition/capture, but I view it as a little. . . well, generic. If you've ever seen or been to the falls, you'd realize this is *exactly* what everyone else takes. I'll get better shots eventually, I'm sure.

A truly superb shot, Gabe. I think the rain worked in your favor. Granted I have nothing to compare it to since this is the first my eyes have seen of this location, but it's a beauty of a shot.

This is absolutely gorgeous! The angle and the dark/misty lighting goes really well with the dark green and water. Wonderful job! =D

Indeed. Otherwise, the bridge would invariably been populated by at least 100 people. Kind of a mixed blessing.
