Wow... I'd like to know what this phenomenon is called... I'm really curious how such fine lines could be formed just by water...

You're asking me if I can freely give you the high-resolution image, if I am not mistaken? No, I don't give images away. I'll explain why, however. My camera was more than $2,000. The lens I took this with was roughly $1,300. Then the gas to get to this place, a hotel room, and a six-mile hike, carrying much camera equipment with me.

Oh dear...total misunderstanding...the photo which you posted was a black and white right...so all I'am asking is the 'colour' version of it..(well post it on DA was what I meant.) Unless the photo originally looks like that. And i appreciate your dedication towards photography, keep up the good work :d

Oh, sorry. I greatly misinterpreted you, and I apologize for coming across as curt. (I've had image-theft before, and people ask for full-sizes, so it gets a little irritating, as you could probably imagine).

As far as the original, the color was actually kind of messed up, due to cloud coverage. I just could not get the color right, at all, but I loved the composition and details. Thus, I will probably never post the original, as it simply looks terrible.

Nah, its okay, I understand how you feel. argh..i hate cloud coverage..(btw cloud coverage is when the cloud covers the sun right?)

Thank you! I didn't really feel as if it was best-viewed in color, here. I wanted more of an "abstract," and I felt as if this blue-black effect worked.

Hah, it's a rock formation in Southern-Utah/Northern-Arizona. The wind has eroded the rock as to expose the layers of deposition. Quite amazing to see.

I was *really* hoping for first place, but I still feel pretty good about third. I've had a surprisingly large amount of people tell me they thought I should have won, so I guess that's somewhat consoling.

Thanks!

Hah. Thank you. What I feared about the competition, really, was exactly that -- until you view it large, it's hard to even know what's going on, as there's just so much detail.
