Flash It All Away

This is a very successful psychological photograph. Great job! The foreground and background are very effective. The background is so pretty and dreamy and bright and there are mountains that symbolize to me climbing towards your dreams. There is also brightness in the background/sky encircling the model which symbolize the afterlife. The foreground is dirty and barren and cold looking. There is a sense of how long the fall would be because of the openess of the structure she is standing on. She either falls deeper into the hole and chooses despair/death or chooses hope in the distance. Artistically, I appreciate that she is not in the center of the frame, but off to the side. Her weight is balanced by the sharp shadow outlining the hole and the beam/rooftop on the right. I also like that she is only partially silhuotted. It's more pleasing asthetically pleasing. It lets me see who this lady is that is emotionally downtrodden.
