Taken just after the sun finally went down. No wind, no clouds. While I wish there had been clouds as to make the scene more interesting, the general level of peaceful tranquility itself is appreciable.

The one thing I like best about this piece of work is that the sparsely wooded area there is not exactly in the center of a picture. There is a term in photography for putting the subject in the 1/3 of the total photograph space to the left or right of a picture that I can't quite remember... but it's a great technique. Another thing that makes this picture great is the perfection of the sand and also the simplicity. Although you have no control of the weather, it's nice that there are no clouds. Clouds would have taken away from the sheer perfection in the smoothness of the sand by complicating the picture. Everything can't be simple in a picture, and the thing that is complex that makes this interesting is that small group of trees which balances things out. Honestly, the trees are what perfect the picture and make it something more than a hunk of sand, but I'm sure that was your vision.
