I had no idea that the entrance was so beautiful. I have been trying to get to this location the last 3 times I went to the area, just flat out did not have time to pull it off. You have made me very jealous with this series and your Wave series. Very well done.
If don't mind refreshing my memory, how do you get to this location? I am going to plot it in for my next trip.
Well, you're likely aware of this, but The Subway is a permit-only hike. You have to go to the Zion information center, and pay the $5 per person (on top of what you spent to get into the park). Then, you choose whether or not you want to go it in reverse, or do the loop in-full. I did it in reverse, as the water's cold, and I didn't feel like swimming or repelling. The reverse-method requires nothing more than a bit of water-walking.
After getting the permit, head out of Zion toward Virgin, UT. In Virgin, look for the " Kolob Terrace" road. Take it, and head about 8 miles, as I recall, to the Left Fork Trailhead. That's the trailhead for The Subway.
Thank you for the reminder, I will certianly be doing this next year. I do remember it is permit only, but I do not recall if there is a limit on the amount of permits?
Thank you very much for your help. Keep up the awesome work, it is good to see very talented people with a lense above photoshop out there.
The amount is 80 people per day. It's hit-or-miss whether or not you can get a walk-in permit. Don't count on it, though. You have to go to the "Back Country" area of the information office to get the permit.
No problem about the help. And thank you for the compliments.
